During a 25 year career in front line policing, Budgie benefitted from some of the best training available in the world. Conversly, he also had to deal with the tragic consequencies of road traffic collisions.
A police VIP Advanced motorcyclist and car driver, he was privileged to be involved in the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Coronation of King Charles III amongst other engagements, including G7 summits, the repatriation of military personel through Royal Wootton Bassett, the Salisbury Novichok incident and escorting the first Covid victims back into the UK.
Embarrasingly pursuaded to be involved in the TV series Emergency bikers and 999 Whats your emergency, he definately has a face for radio.
Between 2017 and his retirement, he spent 7 years as the Bikesafe lead, during this time, he engaged with hundreds of motorcyclists, from the civilian and military world. He has also been actively involved as an IAM and RoSPA examiner for over a decade, in addition he benefits from holding teaching and assessing qualifications.
